Animal washing machine

The animal washing machine is a device for the automatic cleaning of dirty dogs and in rare cases also cats . The machine consists of a programmable box in which the fur of the animal to be cleaned is wetted through nozzles, then foamed, rinsed and dried with the help of hot air that emerges from slits on the floor.

The invention was criticized by animal rights activists . It is made available to customers as a coin-operated machine in some pet supply stores in the USA . So it is possible to have your dog cleaned fully automatically while shopping.

The Spaniard Eduardo Segura , one of the inventors of the animal washing machine, received the Ig Nobel Prize in the category “ Hygiene ” in 2002 for his invention .

As an alternative to fully automatic machines, there are semi-automatic washing systems in which the owner cleans his animal.
