Tigran Wardani Martirosjan ( Armenian Տիգրան Վարդանի Մարտիրոսյան , born March 3, 1983 in Gyumri ) is an Armenian weightlifter in the 85 kg class.

Career

Tigran Martirosjan celebrated his greatest success so far at the Olympic Summer Games in 2008 , where he was able to achieve a bronze medal in the weight class up to 85 kg with a total performance of 380 kg (177 kg + 203).

He also won the bronze medal at the 2006 World Championships in the category up to 85 kg with a total performance of 370 kg and was runner-up in the snatch with 172 kg in front of the equally powerful but heavier Russian Aslambek Ediev . With the same performance, he was also runner-up in the snatch behind the Chinese Long Yu in 2009 , but could no longer compete in the jerk.

At the European Championships in 2008 he won all three gold medals in the 85 kg class with a total performance of 377 kg (172 kg + 205 kg).
