Till Wahnbaeck (born August 31, 1971 ) is a German social entrepreneur and former CEO of Welthungerhilfe .

Career

Wahnbaeck attended the United World College in Italy from 1989 to 1991 , where he obtained the International Abitur.

From 1992 to 1996 he studied history, economics and political science at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Breisgau) as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . Wahnbaeck then received his doctorate from 1996 to 2000 in modern history at Oxford University , was a visiting fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin.

From 2000 to 2012 he worked in various management positions in marketing, sales and innovation management at Procter & Gamble , where he dedicated himself to the topic of value-based leadership. From 2012 to 2014 he was managing director of Gräfe und Unzer Verlag.

From May 2015 to August 2018 he was CEO of Welthungerhilfe. Since 2019 he has been the founder and managing director of Impacc gGmbH, a social business NGO that creates markets for the poorest of the poor.

Extra-professional engagement

From 2000 to 2006 he was honorary chairman of the United World Colleges Germany educational foundation .

In 2003 Wahnbaeck founded the non-profit management consultancy for social projects "Community Charity Consulting (CCC)", which he ran until 2010 on a voluntary basis.

In 2014 Wahnbaeck also held a teaching position for “Vision and Leadership” at the University College Freiburg.

Private

Wahnbaeck comes from a Protestant family, his ancestors were pastors. He is married to the journalist Carolin Wahnbaeck, with whom he has three daughters.

Wahnbaeck is a member of the supervisory board of the Aid by Trade Foundation founded by Michael Otto .
