Tim Friedrich Meyer (born October 30, 1967 in Nienburg / Weser ) is a German sports doctor .

Career

After studying medicine and sports in Hanover and Göttingen, Meyer received his doctorate in 1997 at the University of Göttingen .

Since 2001 he has been part of the medical team of the German national soccer team together with Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt and Josef Schmitt . His tasks there are medical care outside of orthopedic problems, performance diagnostics and anti- doping management.

His habilitation took place in 2006 at the Medical Faculty of Saarland University . Since 2008 he has been the medical director of the Institute for Sports and Preventive Medicine there.

In April 2020, Tim Meyer also became head of the DFL's "Task Force Sports Medicine / Special Game Operations" , which created a hygiene concept that is intended to ensure the continuation of game operations in the two national leagues during the Corona crisis.
