Tim Pawlowski

Tim Pawlowski (* 1980 ) is a German sports economist and university professor .

Life

Pawlowski studied economics at the University of Cologne and sports science at the German Sport University Cologne (DSHS) until 2007 . In 2009 his doctoral thesis was accepted at the sports university, the work was supervised by Christoph Breuer . From 2010 to 2012, Pawlowski held a junior professorship for sports economics at the DSHS . In 2012, Pawlowski took up a professorship for sports economics at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , becoming Helmut Digel's successor in office .

His research focuses on spectators at sporting events, especially behavioral economics. In 2013 he published “Intensity of competition in professional football. An empirical study of the importance for the audience ”. He deals with sports competitions and leagues, the field of sports and public finances and sports in society, including from a health and labor market perspective. In 2014 he brought out the work “Sports Economics Introduction compact”, in the same year he published the book “Sport and Public Finances: The Sports-Related Income and Expenditures of Public Budgets in Germany” with Breuer. Pawlowski is co-author and co-editor of the “Handbuch Sportökonomik”, which appeared in 2016.
