GunCon, versions 1-3

The arcade game Time Crisis by Namco is next to Sega's Virtua Cop and House of the Dead one of the famous so-called light gun - Shooter . The arcade version was released for the Namco System 22 in 1996 . An implementation for the Sony PlayStation followed at the end of 1997 in a bundle with the Lightgun G-Con 45 (designation outside Europe: Guncon ).

action

The title hero, Richard Miller, has to save the kidnapped daughter (Rachel McPherson) of the president of a fictional republic. His way leads him to a fortress, a castle , where he meets a lot of opponents, including top opponents, and finally the kidnapper "Wild Dog". This also occurs in Time Crisis 2 , Time Crisis 3 and Time Crisis 4 .

control

The arcade version has a pedal in addition to the light gun . By holding down the pedal you can take cover and reload the weapon magazine. The PlayStation versions enable this with an additional button on the light gun, but can alternatively imitate the function of the pedal via a connected gamepad . The version of Time Crisis for the Apple iPhone is controlled via touchscreen; Tapping the display with your finger triggers a shot and reloads by briefly tilting the mobile phone.
