Time Flies is a single by the British progressive rock band Porcupine Tree , which was first released in 2009 on the studio album The Incident .

Data

The song - written by frontman Steven Wilson - is the central piece of the 55-minute development on the album's first disc. In terms of content, it deals with getting older and the phenomenon that time seems to pass faster with aging, whereby the lyrics often refer to Wilson's previous life. The song was shortened from the album length of 11:40 minutes both for the single release and for a music video . That video project was led by Lasse Hoile, who has been working with Porcupine Tree for a long time. Due to an error in the mix stage, the promo single edition has a different drum mix, which distinguishes it from the album version.
