Colin Edwin (born June 2, 1970 in Melbourne , Australia, real name Colin Edwin Balch ) is an Australian bassist.

Since the end of 1993 he has been a member of the English progressive rock band Porcupine Tree . Before that he played in various bands such as the Ex-Wise Heads and Random Noise Generator . In 2001 he played the double bass in no-man , a project by Porcupine Tree band leader Steven Wilson . Edwin is known as a jazz fan, plays fretted , fretless , double basses and uprights (a double bass form without the sounding body, electronically picked up with piezo pickups and / or classic coil pickups).
