Timofei Scriabin

Timofei Scriabin (born November 14, 1967 in the MSSR ) is a former Soviet boxer .

Scriabin took part in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul and won after victories over Zekaria Williams, Cook Islands (5: 0), Joseph Lawlor, Ireland (5: 0), Hamed Halbouni, Syria (5: 0), and Melvin de Leon , Dominican Republic (3: 2), and a semi-final defeat against eventual Olympic champion Kim Kwang-sun , South Korea (5: 0), the bronze medal in flyweight (-51 kg). At the European Championships in the following year he reached the final in bantamweight (-54 kg) and lost it against Serafim Todorow , Bulgaria (3: 2).

Skrjanin was still active until 2000 and took a. a. participated in four European championships (1989, 1993, 1996, 1998) and four world championships (1989, 1993, 1995, 1997), but never again reached the medal ranks. In 2000 Scriabin accepted Moldovan citizenship.
