Timothy Radcliffe

Timothy Radcliffe OP (born August 22, 1945 in London ) is a Roman Catholic priest and member of the Dominican Order. He belongs to the English Dominican Province. From 1992 to 2001 he was Magister General of the Dominican Order.

Radcliffe is the only member of the English Order Province to have held this office since the Order was founded in 1216. Before he became Master of the Order, he was Provincial of the Dominicans in England. He is a member of the Blackfriars Dominican Convent at Oxford, a professor of theology and a respected and sought-after author and speaker.

In 2000, Radcliffe was considered a candidate to succeed Cardinal Basil Hume as Catholic Archbishop of Westminster. On May 16, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Consultor of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace .
