Tina Redshaw is a British diplomat .

Career

Redshaw has a master's degree in international development management from the Open University and a bachelor's degree in language and linguistics from the University of York .

She first worked for the British volunteer organization VSO as Country Director for China and Mongolia and then as Regional Director for Southeast Asia . She then joined the British Foreign Service. She worked twice at the British Embassy in Beijing (2000–2003 and 2007–2010). In between she was the British ambassador for East Timor . The appointment was on May 23, 2003. She began her service in December. In July 2006 the embassy in the state capital Dili was closed. Responsibility for East Timor then went to the British Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia . Redshaw held the embassy office until 2007. From 2013 to 2016 Redshaw was the British Consul General in Chongqing, China . She then worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in London as Deputy Head of Climate Change and Energy and in the China and Southeast Asia departments.

In July 2018, Redshaw was appointed British Ambassador to Cambodia .

Others

Redshaw speaks Mandarin , German and Khmer and has some basic knowledge of French , Spanish , Tetum and Thai .
