The Tindale Tarn is a lake in Cumbria , England .
The Tindale Tarn is southeast of Hallbankgate and southwest of Tindale . The Tarn Beck forms its tributary in the east, the Howgill Beck is its tributary in the west. The lake has no discernible drain.
The lake was dammed in the 19th century to provide water for the zinc smelting in Tindale.
The lake is a roosting place for birds and is managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds .
On the southern shore of the lake is the listed Tarn House .
