Tindale (Cumbria)

Tindale or Tindale Fell is a hamlet in the civil parish Farlam in the district of Carlisle in Cumbria , England. It is just south of the A689 from Brampton to Alston . It is a former mining site . Coal and lead were mined here. Limestone was also extracted here.
In the 19th century, a tin smelter was operated in Tindale, for which water was derived from the nearby Tindale Tarn .
