Tyrolean wood

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Tiroler Hölzl is a body that is used for fishing to allow the bait to sink to the bottom.

The Tiroler Hölzl is about 15 cm long and has a weight at one end and an eyelet for the fishing line at the other end of the wooden stick or air-filled plastic tube . In contrast to a simple weight ( e.g. coffin lead ), the Tiroler Hölzl has a slight buoyancy and does not sink so deep into muddy ground. The fishing line at the top is free to move, and the weight can be used even on extremely stony or muddy ground without getting stuck.
