The Titan Nunatak is a large and 460 m high nunatak with a slightly flattened summit in the southeast of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It looms between the Coal nunatak and the Tethys nunatak core .
Aerial photographs of the US polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth from November 23, 1935 were used by the US cartographer WLG Joerg for mapping. On Ellsworth photographs, however, it was not clear whether the Nunatak is located on Alexander I Island or an offshore island. This was clarified by measurements by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1949. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1955 based on the naming of the neighboring Saturn glacier after the Saturn moon Titan .
