Titus Aurelius Fulvus (Consul 89)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Titus Aurelius Fulvus was a Roman senator of the late 1st century AD and the father of the later Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius .

The Fulvus family came from Nemausus ( Nîmes ) in southern Gaul ( province of Gallia Narbonensis ). Little is known about Fulvus' senatorial career ; he was consul (as consul ordinarius ) in 89, four years after the second consulate of his father of the same name . He must have died soon afterwards, as his son Titus Aurelius Fulvus Boionius Arrius Antoninus, who later became emperor, is said to have grown up with his grandfathers. Fulvus was married to Arria Fadilla , who married Publius Iulius Lupus (consul 98) after his death .
