Titus Flavius Constans
Titus Flavius Constans was a Roman politician and officer from the state of the Equites (equester ordo) in the 2nd century .
Under Hadrian , Titus Flavius Constans was knightly procurator of the province of Dacia Inferior , today's Romania ( Transylvania ).
In 165 he held the office of prefect of the Praetorian Guard under Marcus Aurelius . This made him one of the most powerful men in the Roman Empire after the emperor. In this capacity he donated an altar to the Germanic goddess Vagdavercustis in Cologne , on which he himself is depicted in sacred sacrificial clothing ( cinctus Gabinus ) performing an act of sacrifice. Mark Aurel presumably commissioned the prefect with a special mission and sent him to Germania . It is possible that he was also a citizen of the Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium at this time .
