Tiziano Manca

Tiziano Manca (born June 27, 1970 in Squinzano ) is an Italian composer of contemporary music.

Life

Tiziano Manca was born in Squinzano (Italy) in 1970. He studied composition in Florence with Romano Pezzati and Salvatore Sciarrino as well as electronic music and philosophy. This was followed by a master's degree in conducting with Piero Bellugi.

In 2001 he was composer-in-residence at the Akiyoshidai International Art Village in Japan and at the Abbaye de Royaumont (Paris). In 2002 and 2003 he received a scholarship from the Akademie Schloss Solitude Stuttgart.

His music has been performed in Amsterdam (Gaudeamus Music Week), Antwerp (Ars Musica), Berlin (Konzerthaus, Ultrasound Festival, Klangwerkstatt), Darmstadt (summer courses), Huddersfield (Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival), Japan (Akiyoshidai International Art Village), Lucerne (Lucerne Festival), Paris (Abbaye de Royaumont), Toronto (Jane Mallet Theater) and Zurich (Tonhalle).
