Squinzano is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 13,898 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Lecce in Apulia . Squinzano is about 17 kilometers northwest of Lecce and about 30 kilometers south or southwest of Brindisi . The municipality borders directly on the province of Brindisi . Since 1999 the place has been called Città (city).

Squinzano is located in the Apulian wine region. The Squinzano is a protected designation of origin ( Squinzano DOC ), which is mainly produced as a red or rose wine using the Negro Amaro grape.
traffic
The former state road 16 and east of it state road 613 run through the community . Both connect Brindisi with Lecce.
