Gagliano del Capo is a south-east Italian municipality ( comune ).
geography
The community has 5075 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located in the province of Lecce in Apulia , about 59.5 kilometers south-southeast of the provincial capital Lecce in southern Salento . Gagliano del Capo is located directly on the Adriatic Sea and is part of the Parco naturale regional Costa Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca e Bosco di Tricase .
Attractions
Like a canyon, water cuts through the rocks of Gagliano del Capo. On the rocks there is partly the maquis .
There is an old menhir in the Arigliano district .
The district of San Dana houses the ruins of a crypt from the 6th century.

The Gagliano Leuca train station is the southernmost Apulia and therefore in the "boot heel". The second part of the double name of the station refers to the neighboring Santa Maria di Leuca , with its famous Marian shrine . The reception building of the station Gagliano Leuca serves under the name Lastation same time as "art station". Artists can exhibit there. The room can also be used for other artistic activities.
