Tjibbe Veldkamp

Tjibbe Veldkamp (born October 19, 1962 in Groningen , Netherlands ) is a Dutch author .

Life

Veldkamp studied psychology in Groningen and then worked in this field. He has been writing since 1990 and two years later his first book Een ober van niks was published in the Netherlands . It was illustrated by Philip Hopmann , with whom he designed several other books. In the years from 1993 to 2000 he worked for the Dutch editions of the magazines of the Walt Disney- Verlag in addition to his children's books .

Since 2001 Veldkamp has only been active as an author and speaker. He lives in Groningen with his wife and two children.

Prizes and awards

• 1992: Hendrik de Vries scholarship for young authors for his book Bundel korte verhalen .
• 1993: Pluim van de maand for Een ober van nix ; also in 1998 for 22 wezen , 2001 for Het schoolreisje and 2005 for Tim op de tegels .
• 2009: Zilveren Griffel in the category: Best illustrated book for Agent en boef ; Illustrations by Kees de Boer .
• 2010: Silver stylus for Tiffany Dop .
