Her book Räuberkinder was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in the picture book category in 2009. The jury's reasoning was that there is seldom a book as “original as it is cheeky like Antje Damm's Räuberkinder” on the board picture book market. She does not present “another picture of the child as adults would like, but tells about the fun of chaos from the perspective of the youngest.” In 2018 her book “The Visit” was published by The New York Times and New York Public Library named one of the ten best illustrated children's books.

In 2019 her book What will become of us? Nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in the non-fiction category.
