Tkuma ( Hebrew תקומה, German: rebirth ) is an Orthodox-Jewish , nationalist party in Israel . Its chairman has been Knesset MP Bezalel Smotrich since January 2019 .

Tkuma was founded in 1998 when Chanan Porat and Zvi Hendel left the National Religious Party . At first the party was called Emunim (Hebrew: אמונים, trust ), but was later named Tkuma . Together with Moledet (German Heimat) and Cherut - HaTnu'a HaLeumit (German Freedom - The National Movement) they formed the National Union , which received four seats in the Israeli parliamentary elections in 1999 . In the Israeli parliamentary elections in 2003 , Jisra'el Beitenu joined the National Union , which won an additional seven seats. The party was included in Ariel Sharon's coalition, consisting of Likud , Shinui , the Mafdal and Jisra'el ba-Alija .
