In the 1940s and 1950s, the golden age of the bolero, she had great success as a singer in Latin America. She has appeared in the theater and on the radio and has appeared in films such as En carne viva (1951), Revancha (1948) and Humo en los ojos (1946). After her death, she honored her hometown with a statue in the central square, and the Mexican Post Office included her face in the radio legends stamp series .
