The Todd Hill is a turn 500 m high hill on the Antarctic Ross Island . It rises 3 km west-northwest of the hill The Knoll and 2 km north-northeast of Bomb Peak not far from Cape Crozier at the eastern end of the island. It essentially consists of a volcanic cone made of white trachyte , which is covered by a thin layer of black moraine debris.
Scientists from a 1958-1959 campaign of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) named him. It is named after the New Zealand mountaineer Colin Todd from Dunedin , who advised the NZGSAE on technical issues and who died in a motorcycle accident in his hometown in 1955 at the age of 28.
