Todd Nunes (* 1979 in Benicia , California ) is an American screenwriter and film director .

Life

As a young boy he developed a love for horror films. At the age of eight, he saw Halloween - The Night of Horror and remained true to the genre even as a teenager. His favorite directors included John Carpenter , Wes Craven , Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott . As early as high school he began to write plays, these were mostly based on horror films like Friday the 13th , the second part or Halloween . In some cases he was even allowed to perform them, although the school administration did not particularly like them. He made his first amateur films with high school friends.

After high school, he moved to Los Angeles with his sister Ashley Mary Nunes , where he studied screenwriting at the Los Angeles Film School and then at the University of California, Los Angeles . His sister, who shares his passion for horror films, meanwhile worked on her acting career.

His debut film Scary Larry was released in 2014 . This was followed in 2014 by Santa's Knocking , which was shown at several film festivals and was well received in horror circles because of its numerous splatter effects . He is currently filming a remake of Don't Look in the Basement entitled Death Ward 13.
