The Todnitzsee is an approximately 0.4 km² large body of water in Bestensee , Dahme-Spreewald district . The natural lake has a connection to the Zeesener See in the north and via the Glunze to the Pätzer Vorderesee in the south .

The water is a certified bathing area of the Ministry for the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection (MUGV) of the state of Brandenburg with an adjacent lawn.

The maximum depth is 6 m.

Younger story

Dredging began in the early 1980s. Decades of sewage from a neighboring residential area had silted up the lake. A pier was built for the work . The mud extracted from the lake was stored on the east bank to dry off and partly collected by LPGs and used as field fertilization.

In the course of reunification, the project was stopped. The pier has been preserved to this day.
