Tolon (unit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tolon was a unit of mass (measure of weight) on the Coromandel Coast . Many individual measurements are based on the comparison by the bill coins , such as annas, pagodas, rupees, fanoin and fanam. The pagoda weighed about 63 Cologne ash trees , but only 55 ash trees for gold . Fanoins varied from region to region: In Portonovo there were 12, in Cudelur or Tegapatnam 18, in Negapatnam 24 golden fanoins. There were 24 silver fanoins in the Pondichery and Malipur regions and 36 in Madras .
