history

On January 1, 2015, the municipality of Écuelles was incorporated into Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne. The name of the merged municipality was changed to Orvanne . On January 1, 2016, this new municipality was merged with the previous municipalities of Épisy and Montarlot to form Commune nouvelle with the spelling Moret Loing et Orvanne .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the existing Commune nouvelle was expanded by a decree of December 26, 2016 to include the former municipality of Veneux-Les Sablons and changed to the current spelling (with hyphens).
