Nanteau-sur-Essonne is the westernmost commune of the Seine-et-Marne department. It borders the Essonne department in the north and is three kilometers north of Malesherbes and 13 kilometers southwest of Milly-la-Forêt . The municipality is located in the Gâtinais français Regional Nature Park .
