Chailly-en-Bière is a commune with 2,037 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Fontainebleau and the canton of Fontainebleau (until 2015: canton of Perthes ). The inhabitants are called Chaillotins .

geography

Chailly-en-Bière is located about 47 kilometers south-southeast of Paris and about nine kilometers northwest of Fontainebleau . The Fontainebleau forest is to the east. The municipality is located in the Gâtinais français Regional Nature Park .

The community is surrounded by Villiers-en-Bière in the north and north-west, Fontainebleau in the east, Barbizon in the south, Fleury-en-Bière in the south-west and Perthes in the west. The former Route nationale 7 (today D607) and the former Route nationale 37 (today D637) lead through the municipality .
