Saint-Mammès is a French commune with 3,347 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Seine-et-Marne department of the Île-de-France region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Fontainebleau and the canton of Montereau-Fault-Yonne . The inhabitants are called Mammesia .
geography
Saint-Mammès is located on an arch of the Seine about 40 kilometers southeast of Paris. Saint-Mammès is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Champagne-sur-Seine in the north and north-west, Vernou-la-Celle-sur-Seine in the north and east, Écuelles in the south-east, Moret-sur-Loing in the south and Veneux-les-Sablons in the West and southwest.
In the far north-west of the municipality, the Loing River , which is developed as a shipping route here and branches off as an independent Canal du Loing in the neighboring municipality of Moret-sur-Loing , flows into the Seine.
The station is on the Paris – Marseille railway line .
