Dormelles is a French municipality with 806 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Fontainebleau and the Canton of Nemours .
The districts of Dormelles are: Challeau, Champmerle, La Vallée, Le Bois de Dormelles, Le Bois Huard, Le Bois Piget, Le Pimard and Ouzille. Neighboring municipalities of Dormelles are Ville-Saint-Jacques in the north, Noisy-Rudignon in the northeast, Montmachoux in the east, Flagy and Thoury-Férottes in the southeast, Saint-Ange-le-Viel in the south, Villemaréchal in the southwest and Montarlot and Villecerd in the northwest.
history
During one of the Merovingian Fraternal Wars , a battle between the Neustrian troops of Chlothar II and the Burgundian-Austrasian coalition took place here in 600 . Chlothar was defeated and had to withdraw.
