geography

Bois-le-Roi is located on the Seine about 48 kilometers south-southeast of Paris in the Fontainebleau forest . Bois-le-Roi is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chartrettes in the north, Fontaine-le-Port in the east, Samois-sur-Seine in the south-east, Fontainebleau in the south and La Rochette in the north-west. The municipality consists of the smaller villages Brolles , Sermaize , La Cave with the Seine lock, and La Ruelle .
