Villiers-en-Bière is a commune with 211 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Melun and the canton of Fontainebleau (until 2015: canton of Perthes ). The inhabitants are called Villiers-en-Bièrois .
geography
Villiers-en-Bière is located about six kilometers southwest of Melun on the Ru de la Marre aux Evées stream . The Fontainebleau forest is to the south. The municipality is located in the Gâtinais français Regional Nature Park . The municipality is surrounded by Dammarie-les-Lys in the north and north-east, Fontainebleau in the east and south-east, Chailly-en-Bière in the south and south-east, Perthes in the south-west and Boissise-le-Roi in the west and north-west. The former route nationale 7 (today's D607) runs through the municipality .
