geography

Boissise-le-Roi is about ten kilometers west of Melun on the left bank of the Seine . The municipality is surrounded by Seine-Port in the north and north-west, Boissise-la-Bertrand in the north and north-east, Dammarie-les-Lys in the east, Villers-en-Bière in the south-east, Perthes and Saint-Sauveur-sur-École in the south , Pringy in the southwest and Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry in the west.

The small village of Orgenoy belongs to the municipality .

history

According to the deed of donation, Ludwig VI. Orgenoy to the Abbey of Saint-Victor in Paris. Boissise-le-Roi - in the 13th century as Boissiacum Regis - became a fiefdom of the Thumery family. The castle was razed with the occupation by the English.
