Le Châtelet-en-Brie is a French commune with 4454 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Melun in the canton of Nangis . The inhabitants call themselves Châtelains .

The municipalities include Le Traveteau , Saveteux , La Gatellerie and Le Domaine . Le Châtelet-en-Brie is on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest . Neighboring municipalities are Sivry-Courtry in the north and west, La Chapelle-Gauthier in the north and northeast, Les Écrennes in the east, Pamfou in the southeast, Machault and Féricy in the south and Fontaine-le-Port in the southwest.
The A5 car route and the former national route 5bis run through the municipality .
