The Communauté de communes Brie des Rivières et Chateaux is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . The community association was founded on December 10, 2016 and comprises 31 communities. The administrative headquarters are in Le Châtelet-en-Brie .

Historical development

The municipal association was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of municipalities from the following associations, which were dissolved at the same time:

• Communauté de communes Vallées et Châteaux (12 municipalities),
• Communauté de communes des Gués de l'Yerres (7 municipalities)
• Communauté de communes la Brie Centrale (7 municipalities)
• Communauté de communes de l'Yerres à l'Ancœr (4 municipalities) and
• Communauté de communes du Pays de Seine (1 municipality).
