Machault is a French municipality with 783 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Melun and the Canton of Nangis (until 2015: Canton Le Châtelet-en-Brie ). The inhabitants are called Machauliens .

geography

Machault is about 15 kilometers southeast of Melun and about 57 kilometers southeast of Paris . Machault is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Châtelet-en-Brie in the north and north-west, Pamfou in the east and north-east, Valence-en-Brie in the east, Vernou-la-Celle-sur-Seine in the south, and Champagne-sur-Seine in the south-west , Héricy in the west and Féricy in the northwest.
