Its port is a French commune with 1,888 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Melun and the canton of Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry (until 2015: canton of Savigny-le-Temple ). The inhabitants are called the Seine Portais .
geography
Seine-Port is located on the Seine about 36 kilometers south-southeast of Paris . Seine-Port is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nandy in the north, Savigny-le-Temple in the northeast, Cesson in the east, Boissise-la-Bertrand in the south and southeast and Saint-Fargeau in the west.
