Buno-Bonnevaux is located about 55 kilometers south of Paris on the Essonne , which forms the western municipal boundary. The municipality is located in the Gâtinais français Regional Nature Park . Buno-Bonnevaux is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Maisse in the north and northwest, Milly-la-Forêt in the northeast, Oncy-sur-École in the east and northeast, Tousson in the east and southeast, Nanteau-sur-Essonne in the south and southeast, Boigneville in the Southwest, Prunay-sur-Essonne to the west and Gironville-sur-Essonne to the west and northwest.
There is a glider airfield in the municipality.
