Crosne is a French town with 9231 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the northeast of the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France , on the border of the department of Val-de-Marne . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Évry and the canton of Vigneux-sur-Seine . The inhabitants are called Crosnois .

Crosne is located on the Yerres River , near its confluence with the Seine, 20 kilometers southeast of the center of the capital Paris.

Neighboring municipalities are Villeneuve-Saint-Georges ( Département Val-de-Marne ) in the west and north, Valenton (also Val-de-Marne) in the northeast, Yerres in the east and Montgeron in the south.
