Clocaenog is a community in Denbighshire , Wales . The population is 248 (2001).

Clocaenog is located in a mountainous district and is surrounded by extensive heather and forest areas. The approximately 100 km² Clocaenog Forest was reforested as a coniferous forest in 1905 by the Forestry Commission. The highest mountain is the Craig Bron Bannog with 501 meters.

Worth seeing

The old stone Anglican parish church stands on a hill and is dedicated to St. Foddhyd, first mentioned in the Norwich taxation of 1254. It was renovated in 1882. The parish of Clocaenog includes the townships of Bryngwri, Llanerchgron, Maen-ar-ei-gilydd, Maestyddyn, Clocaenog Ucha and Clocaenog Isa. Since July 19, 1966, the Church of St Foddhyd is registered as a cultural monument. The church's special treasures include the pulpit from 1695 and an elaborately carved wooden chandelier with animal headdress, dated 1538. The east window above the age is provided with fragments of the original stained glass. The interior has carved motifs dated from 1725. The three stained glass windows depicting stained glass depicting the crucifixion of the Virgin Mary and John were added around 1865.
