history
In his book A Topographical Dictionary of Wales , S. Lewis suspected that Bodfari was the Roman base of Varis , which he bases on the finds of urns, ornaments, weapon fragments, coins and other Roman relics. More recently, the parish of Bodfari belonged to Flintshire and included the parishes of Bodfari and Aberwheeler .
While Bodfari had 873 inhabitants in 1831 and 756 in 1901, the village had 327 inhabitants in 164 households according to the 2011 census.
