Rýmařov (German Roman town ) is a town in the Okres Bruntál in the Moravian Moravskoslezský kraj ( Czech Republic ).
Geographical location
The city is located in the Sudetes in the valley of the Podolský brook ( Podolský potok ) between the mountain slopes of the Lower Jeseník ( Nízký Jeseník ) and Jeseníky Mountains ( Hrubý Jeseník ), about 50 km north of the city of Olomouc .
history
It was first mentioned in writing in 1351. The town was raised in 1406. The main economic determinants for the town were gold and silver mining. After the deposits disappeared, linen weaving was the most important branch of industry by the 19th century at the latest.
On October 15, 1878, Römerstadt received a rail connection through the state railway between Kriegsdorf and Römerstadt . At the beginning of the 20th century, Römerstadt had an upper secondary school, a technical school for weaving, an agricultural winter school, various commercial operations and was the seat of a district court.
The political district Rýmařov came in 1938 after the Munich agreement as a county römerstadt the administrative district of Opava the Reichsgau Sudetenland the German Reich .
After the end of World War II , Roman city came back to Czechoslovakia. The German population - with the exception of a few skilled workers from industrial companies - was expelled .

City structure
The town of Rýmařov consists of the districts Edrovice ( Edersdorf ), Harrachov ( Harrachsdorf ), Jamartice ( Irmsdorf ), Janovice ( Janowitz ), Ondřejov ( Andersdorf ), Rýmařov ( Roman town ) and Stránské ( Zechitz ). Basic settlement units are 8. května, Edrovice, Harrachov, Harrachovský kopec, Holý vrch, Jamartice, Janovice, Janovický les, Janušov ( Johnsdorf ), Mlýnský vrch, Na stráni, Ondřejov, Pod Novopolským potova, Sýedokolským potokem, Rudéma armáalkády, Rórdovády , Stráň, Stránské, U nemocnice and Žižkova.
The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Edrovice, Jamartice, Janovice u Rýmařova, Janušov, Ondřejov u Rýmařova, Rýmařov and Stránské.

The historic center has been a listed building (památková zóna) since 2003, although it has been significantly redesigned in recent decades. The city experienced the hardest times between 1955 and 1974, when many town houses on the market square and two churches were demolished. After 1989 the historical sights began to be restored. There is a local museum on the market square.
