Václavov u Bruntálu ( German Wildgrub ) is a municipality in the Czech region of Moravskoslezský kraj with 490 inhabitants. It extends eight kilometers west of Bruntál in the valley of Kočovský potok .
history
Nieder Wildgrub was first mentioned in writing in 1405; According to the local history, the village is said to have been called Nikolaus until 1385 . In the 1870s, both communities were given Czech names: Horní Vildgrub and Dolní Vildgrub, which were changed to Horní Velkruby and Dolní Velkruby in 1921. From 1938 to 1945, the area belonged to the district Freudenthal in the administrative district of Opava the German Reichsgau Sudetenland . In 1950 Horní Velkruby and Dolní Velkruby merged to form the municipality of Václavov u Bruntálu.
Community structure
The municipality Václavov u Bruntálu consists of the districts and cadastral districts Dolní Václavov ( Lower Wildgrub ) and Horní Václavov ( Upper Wildgrub ). Basic settlement units are Dolní Václavov, Horní Václavov and Lesní Mlýn ( Bushmill ).
