Dolní Moravice [ ˈdɔlɲiː ˈmɔravɪtsɛ ] (German Nieder Mohrau ) is a municipality with 389 inhabitants (January 1, 2014) in the Czech Republic . It extends in a side valley on the upper reaches of the Mohra twelve kilometers west of Bruntál at the foot of the Jeseníky Mountains at 600 m above sea level. M.
history
The village was first mentioned in 1258. It was part of the Eulenberg rule . A school had existed in Nieder Mohrau since 1599. In 1712 the sawmill and the paper mill were established, where most of the residents were on wages and bread.
On December 1, 1930 the community of Nieder Mohrau had 751 inhabitants, on May 17, 1939 there were 804 and on May 22, 1947 422 inhabitants.
After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and belonged to the district of Römerstadt until 1945 . The German residents were expropriated and expelled in 1945.
In 1949 Horní Moravice ( Upper Mohrau ) was incorporated, and in 1961 the former mountain village Nová Ves ( Neudorf ) became a district.

The districts Horní Moravice ( Ober Mohrau ) and Nová Ves ( Neudorf , formerly also Neu Hoffmannsdorf ) belong to the municipality of Dolní Moravice .
