Epinay-sous-Senart is a French municipality with 12,446 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Évry , which borders Paris to the south and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the eponymous canton of Épinay-sous-Sénart .
geography
Épinay-sous-Sénart is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Brunoy in the west and north, Mandres-les-Roses in the north-east, Boussy-Saint-Antoine in the east, Quincy-sous-Sénart in the south-east and south and Soisy-sur-Seine in the south-west. A large part of the municipality is the north-eastern part of the Forêt Domaniale de Sénart . The Yerres River runs along the northern boundary of the municipality .
Community partnerships
A partnership has existed with the German municipality of Isernhagen since 1982, as well as with the city of Peacehaven in East Sussex in Great Britain .
