Écharcon is a commune with 786 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement Evry and is part of the canton of Corbeil-Essonnes (until 2015: canton of Mennecy ). The inhabitants are called Écharconnais .
geography
Écharcon is located about 32 kilometers south-east of Paris in the Hurepoix landscape on Essonne , which borders the municipality in the south. Écharcon is surrounded by the neighboring communities Vert-le-Grand in the north and west, Lisses in the northeast, Mennecy in the southeast, Fontenay-le-Vicomte in the south and Vert-le-Petit in the southwest.
