Johann Arend

Johann von Arend († 1737 ) was a Prussian colonel and first regiment chief of the Stettiner Land Regiment .

Life

In terms of the source, Johann Arend is difficult to grasp. Already Anton Balthasar King (1788) does not know even his first name, and suggests in the absence of secure information merely provides the colonel and the first head of the newly established Szczecin Country Regiment could be identical to the Major "Arend", which since the 22nd February 1710 in the regiment of Margrave Christian Ludwig . The Szczecin Land Regiment was set up in 1735 with a strength of nine companies with garrison in Szczecin. Eduard Lange (1853) lists him as chief of the Stettiner Land Regiment from 1735 to 1737, but also does not give his first name. According to Günther Gieraths , who is the only one who mentions his first name "Johann", he is said to have led the regiment since 1729 and until 1740.
